Being a satellite TV novice, I'm looking to those much more knowledgable than me for help. I have a dish that has 2 cables feeding separate TVs. I need to add 18 connections for fitness equipment. What are the potential pitfalls I need to be concerned about? If I can split it, do I need amplified splitters? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to Satelliteguys! :welcome

You can't just split the signal, you need multiswitches. You might want to contact a professional installer. Is this a business? If so, you should go through Directv since there is an additional expense for having so many tvs in a business.

We are assuming you want to have separate viewing where each location can watch their own programming, correct?
If you are wanting separate programming, each location will require a receiver. You should contact DirecTV to get a price quote for this project. As others said, its not going to be cheap. Your monthly bill will go up dramatically and the cost for new receivers and installation will run you easily 2k in the least.
