Well folks, the magicians at DISH and ECHOSTAR have done it and have managed to get Multiview (Aka Sports Bar Mode to Hopper 3 owners in time for March Madness!

While it works really good, please understand it is not perfect. therefore I am opening this thread for people to report bugs they are seeing in sports bar mode.

When reporting issues please post all details of the error, how you got the error and if possible any screen shots or videos of the error happening.

This will help the engineers fully stamp out the remaining issues.

Thanks and enjoy! And may (insert one of the 64 teams playing in March Madness here) win!

I consider this a bug:
When I choose multi-view I need to enter my unlock code, I really believe that I should only need to enter the code if I choose a locked channel.

Does it pre-populate the grid with Dish-selected channels ? If so, by chance is one of those channels one that you've blocked ?

It originally populated with channels I have frequently watched, now it opens with the one I have previously picked. NONE are channels that have been blocked.

I got a note from DISH about N0QCU's issue.

The Multiview Feature is technically an app and it will ask for a password if the user has "Restrict Apps" turned on. So if he turns that off the issue should go away.

I thought so and that confirms its a bug because I verified that restrict apps is OFF.

If I go from Netflix to sports bar, my video signal drops out and I have to reboot enable to use multi view.

Well looks like NOQCU did find a bug.

Just got this from DISH...

Sports bar just seems to be a 4 screen extension of the dual screen.

I noticed in Sports Bar (as in dual screen) if you switch to a screen you can change the channel or bring up the guide.

But in Sport Bar mode, the arrow keys will swap screens so you can move audio to any screen you want. In dual screen mode, Nada, I would have expected the arrow keys (at least left/right) would swap between the screens.

I think this is an oversight and should be reported as a bug (well, it's been that way all along) but sport bar shows that they can use the arrow keys to swap between screens so dual screen should work the same way IMHO.

Dish indicated that Sports Bar Mode is an app and apps can be updated at anytime (on their end). Maybe they fixed it... I saw a lot of people reporting that same problem.

Add me to the list of people who's audio drops out. Makes it hard to watch. Also, love the ability to swap audio. Would be nice to have that in the dual screen mode.

Try connecting an optical audio cable between your H3 and tv or receiver. I was having audio drop outs every 2 seconds until I finally connected the optical cable.

I have not used a separate audio cable for maybe 10 years! My HWS audio seemed fine using hdmi. Also all of my many devices over the years....various cable boxes, Tivo's, HTPC's, Roku's Amazon fire tv. All worked fine and would pass DD to my Yamaha or Onkyo receivers.
