For some reason my 4dtv went out while i was watching a movie on we or something. The 4dtv reads *(asterisk/star)4 Anyone know what that might mean ? tried unplugging it for a while. It would go through the usual warmup then back to those numbers, star 4 and 256 or something. It's a DSR-922 and I was on X4 when it happened. No other sats come in either, just says searching for channel.

Try unpluggin and removing the lnb cable(s) from the receiver and see if it does the same thing or try the cables on a FTA receiver and see if you get any signal or quality. You would have to try a process of elimination to see what is really causing that reading.
