Stocked up on Green Chiles Today

My woman just made some hatch green chile carnitas, using the chile we just picked up from the fest. So freaking good. We didn't tell the kids, and surprise surprise it wasn't to spicy for them and they loved it.

Might head to El Paso next weekend, if time permits head north and see if there is any still available...

Ever go directly to the Farms and pick it up directly?

I keep wanting to, but never make it... about a 240 mile trip from home.

I go every year, from Phoenix. We drove round trip this time(including a stop in TorC and Winston) 941 miles.

Soon ... saw on the "local" news that a semi loaded with green chiles had overturned near Hatch, disaster.

Diced up a green chili we grew & cooked with breakfast yesterday, had some heat..
Still haven't bought any this year yet, have some from last two years in freezer....

I bought some 8-10 days ago, when I saw them out in front of the store roasting..
