strange issue

everything has been hooked up for @ a year now in this configuration, working great w/ hdmi control

all of a sudden a message pops up
New Equipment found.
Please program your directv remote with the new equipment

now i did just get 2 rc72 remotes that i have not done anything with, except install batteries.

Remote: rc65
receiver: hr34
tv:UN55JU6500FXZA
avr: Denon AVR-X2100W

My guess is the receiver received a signal from the new remotes and wants to pair it. The communication between remotes and Genie is much improved over the pre-RC71 remotes.

I would not take it to mean anything changed with your connected equipment.

but the new remote wont do rf with the hr34, and there is no LOS from where they are

Good point, forgot the HR34 was pre RC71. Did a button by any chance get pressed when you loaded the batteries (given line of site?).

Beyond that I'm at a loss.

very possible, when i put the batteries in there was line of site
but that was Saturday

Sounds like the HR34 is failing and you must ask for a replacement upgrade immediately

Just kidding of course, but the HR44/54 is very desirable compared to the HR34.

yeah, maybe. but i do not one a new contract at this time
i dont really want to upgrade until there is a real 4k dvr
with 2 4k tvs, and hr34 and hr24, a mini is a downgrade
or i would need 2 phantom fees to keep what i have

but back on topic, it is a strange issue

it is a single family home, nearest neighbor is 3-400yds away
no internet available (unless i use my cell phone)

so it cant/shouldn't be someone else s system

Have you tried a simple recvr reboot to see if it still presist afterwards ?

i did not, but it has not shown up again since the batteries were taken out of the remotes

I have never been able to get HDMI control to work with a Directv receiver and my Denon.

its working great with the rg65. i never programmed the remote for the tv or the receiver.
maybe the tv is bouncing them to the receiver?
