Whats happening with ESPN Classic?

I heard that it has converted to a VOD channel on Dish, is this only going to be happening on Dish or whats happening?
Would it not be better if they rebranded it into ESPN3 and they showed some of the live events from ESPN3 on tv rather than getting rid of the linear channel altogether?, or had it as an alternate channel for other live programming when the rest of the ESPN channels are all showing live events?

As far as I know, it's ESPN that's changing it to VOD. Dish jumped on the chance to convert it early. I like your idea of making ESPN3 a linear channel.

A linear channel still exists, Charter carries it in my area. Not sure why both satellite providers want the VOD only effect on it

Yeah - it's still there. Select college content from ESPN3 can be seen on ch 788-800.
