According to a study, Randy Jackson is an American Idol judge favorite while Paula Abdul was the least favorite.

Funny I like Paula and Simon before I would like the "dog" RAndy. He is my least favorite.

Simon's the only one I like. I kind of like the new girl. They could keep her and dump Paula then find a replacement for Randy and I'd be okay with it.

Simon is the one that they want to please the most because they know that he is the most believable but has the bad attitude. I think this is why Randy was chosen because he is not as harsh as Simon but is also believable. It is a balance. If someone is bad enough Paula is going to come right out and say it or talk about how good they look instead of talking about the performance.
