Of all the things she faced during the taping of "Survivor: Samoa" - the bugs, the weather and other ordeals - New Yorker Elizabeth Kim was most surprised by her fellow competitors' views on race.

I wish the article followed up the lede by asking her to provide examples. Had I been Richard Huff's editor (I was a newspaper editor for 17 years), I would have pressed him for examples. Seeing none, I would have firmly requested that he rewrite it.

One reason newspapers are losing credibility these days - where are the editors!
