I don't see this as any different than what would have happened before. Apple typically settles these quietly and moves on.

I'm not sure they did anything wrong. It's too generic, and too easy to believe in coincidence. And that they paid simply to make it "go away" quickly. Things like that can happen when you have more money than you know what to do with.
