What is not true about the CSR statement. If you have a smart TV or Roku/AppleTV/Firestick you have everything Hopper+ has.WHAT!!!!???
Depends on how recent the Smart TV model is as my LG Smart TV has 3D and OLED but it does not have everything the Hopper+ has as I think it needs to mention Android/Amazon/Roku in addition to the Smart TV.What is not true about the CSR statement. That's like a car salesman telling a customer that the car they have works well enough and they don't need a new one. What is not true about the CSR statement. If you have a smart TV or Roku/AppleTV/Firestick you have everything Hopper+ has.
Change for the sake of change is not always a good thing. If it ain't broke why fix it...That's like a car salesman telling a customer that the car they have works well enough and they don't need a new one.
Because it's not up to a DISH rep to discourage an upgrade that would trigger a 2-year commitmentChange for the sake of change is not always a good thing. If it ain't broke why fix it...
Have no interest in plusThere's no problem with the hopper, but there is probably the same issue with the plus
Curious why you want Joey 4s but not the Plus, which is the same OS and works the same way as the Joey 4?Have no interest in plus
Is there any visual example of the issue with the Joey 4 and hdr/ sdr?
I don't have a visual example, but I have an experience. Is there any visual example of the issue with the Joey 4 and hdr/ sdr?
Most users probably will not notice, or care. If you are a videophile, you may notice that you have to set a "compromise" in your video settings.Have no interest in plus

Maybe don't understand what is to be gained by using it.Curious why you want Joey 4s but not the Plus, which is the same OS and works the same way as the Joey 4?
I install these almost every day and see no visible issues
The Hopper+ would expand that 4K streaming to your Hopper as well. If you have a 4K streamer like a Roku, it would do the same thing.Maybe don't understand what is to be gained by using it.
The Joey 4 would allow 4k streaming and supposedly improved picture quality on dish programming
The SONY should detect if programming is HDR or SDR and adjust accordingly to how you may have calibrated those settingsI don't have a visual example, but I have an experience.
I have two tv's that support HDR.
The 77 inch Sony doesn't have different picture settings for HDR that I am aware of.
The older 65 inch LG does have some specific picture settings for HDR vs SDR.
I had to optimize the settings for HDR on the LG.
I only have one set of optimized settings that covers HDR and SDR on the Sony to the best of my knowledge.
These are very good TVs.
Switched to Joey 4 and Hopper plus love them and have had absolutely no issues with HDR vs SDR.
They look great.
I enjoy the improved Dish picture quality on both TVs from using these newer boxes from DISH.
I am not worried at all about having HDR flagged full time wearing out my TVs either.
The Joey 4s, Hopper Plus, and Wireless Joey 4 are rock solid.
Hopper Plus, Joey 4, and Wireless Joey 4 are great.
As would the PlusMaybe don't understand what is to be gained by using it.

This is what must be happening with the Sony. The SONY should detect if programming is HDR or SDR and adjust accordingly to how you may have calibrated those settings.
