Hopefully this will enable them to ad some HD channels of substance when they finnaly start using switch video across the whole system. Bad news for cable card customers if they do start using switched video for new HD channels. I would think they wouldn't use this for anything other than HD,PPV,SPorts Packs, and foreign language channels. Any word on how long this test will be goin on?

Basically a variation of IPTV. Instead of all channels being broadcast all the time, only the channel you are viewing is streamed to you. If you request a channel that someone else on you node is already watching you will just tap into that stream. So instead having to support 300 independant streams for 300 channels. You can fit the same 300 channels in 200 streams. Thats kind of crude example but maybe someone can explain it better than I.
