Switching HD Reciver to HD DVR

I am wondering if I switch a HD Receiver to a HD DVR will I need a second swm unit or does it come with it because I have Whole Home DVR with on already on the current HD DVR? I am wondering so this second HD DVR will show up to use in the other rooms.

from my understanding it will work.you will be able to record 4 things at once instead of 2.someone correct me if i am wrong.

I am in the process of doing the same thing. I am wondering if you have 2 HDDVR's hooked up on whole house DVR do you actually see 4 things being recorded on each DVR's recording guide? (2 from the one you are looking at and 2 from the other HDDVR that is connected)
