Hello,
I just got an swm lnb and a buddy of mine has an older model receiver. Both of us have subscriptions to direct tv. He just doesnt use his extra box right now. Tried to see if it works with my new sat. but its not working. Is there anyway to get the older model receiver to work with the swm? (other than get another dish put up)
Thanks and any help would be appreciated.

What model receiver is it?
Only SWM capable receivers can use that LNB.
These are the Hxx and HRxx models.

Otherwise you'd have to swap the non-SWM LNB back to the dish.

If the recvr is a newer one like JD mentioned, go into the set up menu's and see if it is seeing the SWM set up, remember you'll want to connect it at the SWM splitter.
The recvr won't get signal without being connected to the SWM set up in this situation.

SWM supports these below :0

HR20-100 through HR20-700
HR21-100 through HR21-700
HR21 Pro (all models)
HR22-100 through HR22-700
HR23-100 through HR23-700
HR24
H20-100 through H20-700
H21-100 through H21-700
H22-100 through H22-700
H23-100 through H23-700
H24
R16-100 through R16-700
R22-100 through R22-700
R23-100 through R23-700
D12-100 through D12-700
D13-100 through D13-100

Dont forget....
SWM needs a PI (Power Inserter) as well
