System Work Being Done

As you might have read our new server arrived today at my h ouse in Newington. In an effort to start getting it ready I am currently doing some work on our current server which will involve copying some configuration files and other data to the new server for testing.

Becuase of this you might notice a slight slowdown. (That will be when it is compressing the data into tarballs for copying to the new server)

Things should be back to normal soon (you might not even notice any difference)

have had a couple lock ups here (doesn't do anything...just sits there)

Yup it's doing the gziping now. Dont know why its so server intensive but it is.

Is it so much that it's creating a high load or it's trying to save things that are constantly changing and it has to give the saving process the priority...

I'm no server guy though, but I think it's more for protection than anything else...
