Exactly... I'm just hoping they don't pull the plug for a long time. AT&T has historically been better at keeping grandfathered commitments long term than VZW. I'm thinking of giving Visible a try as an alternative UDP that will even save a few dollars.
No... The SIM just gets moved to the new device. My AT&T SIM for example, also on a discontinued UDP, is in its third hotspot. I even had the SIM replaced recently with no problems.
Same here for wife and I. $60 for two phones and unlimited everything. There are a few deadspots but in areas I don't frequent.
Let me know how Visible works for you. I tried it as a beta tester and there were major issues. They may have corrected them by now.
PS- Visible is subject to the same deprioritization (congestion throttle) that Verizon prepaid is subject to, i.e. there is no "premium data" offered before congestion throttle kicks in.
If you're in an area with a lot of tourist traffic, you will get slowed down.
Except they make you stand to do any business. Even the T-mobile workers stand for hours without sitting. You can't even find a stool or bench in my local store. IF there is a wait for service bring your own chair.

The approval also provides for the divestiture of certain spectrum assets to Dish. Additionally, T-Mobile and Sprint must make available to Dish at least 20,000 cell sites and hundreds of retail locations. T-Mobile must also provide Dish with robust access to the T-Mobile network for a period of seven years while Dish builds out its own 5G network.
DISH's proposed asset acquisitions from Sprint are valued at approximately $5 billion, including a $1.4 billion purchase of Sprint's prepaid businesses, and a $3.6 billion agreement to purchase Sprint's nationwide 800 MHz wireless spectrum. The spectrum purchase is expected to be completed three years after the closing of the acquisition of the prepaid businesses.

Well, I stand corrected. Buried in all the settlement verbiage is the fact that over 20M current T-Mobile customers have band 71 capable phones. This is the 600 MHz band that TV stations are vacating.

But it's adding coverage, which is what counts. And yes, they are leasing space on many more towers.

Do you have a source for that? I'm not trying to be argumentative; I would like TMO to succeed. So far I haven't seem them pay too much attention to rural folks so I'm curious.

I read today that the deal includes tm leasing a bunch of dish 600 MHz capacity for an undisclosed period of time.
