Talk radio in NY will change dramatically as we enter the New Year.

On WOR, John Gambling retires as of 12/20 and the Limbaugh/Hannity block will fill the space between noon and 6 pm. On WABC, Michael Savage will move to 3pm leaving unannounced gaps from noon to 3 pm and in the evening.

Other than that we don't know what the landscape will look like except that it will be very different. I'll be checking in here for any news and speculation and will post if I hear any late-breaking details.

I think it was an interesting move for WOR to grab Limbaugh away from WABC.

Its also looking more likely that WOR will acquire the rights to the New York Yankees, which will be a big blow to WCBS.

Scott, the Yankees signed a multi-year deal with WFAN beginning with the 2014 season and the Mets signed a deal with WOR.

From my understanding (and I could be wrong) that the WFAN deal is only for 2014.

I was reading something yesterday (and I can't find it) talking about this and how WOR is pushing things now that they are free from control of Buckley Broadcasting.

Rumor has it that Anthony Weiner is in the running for a talk show on WABC or WOR. Cumulus has later denied this.

I'm not too knowledgeable of the Northeast Talk scene, but in my opinion, some syndicated shows should come this way, such as Dennis Miller.
