Does Directv add on taxes to your bill?

I am looking at a setup on the Directv website and the total is $53.95 per month. Would that be my bill total per month or are there additional taxes?

There is tax. Here in WI some sevies billed are at at the state level 5% and some services billed are at the county level 5.5%. Haven't really figured out why that is but, it is what it is. By services I mean leased receiver fee, mirrored receiver fee, programming package, dvr service, hd access, and premium channels.

My last bill was $6.17 for sales tax. Each leased receiver is 28 cents, HD Access is 50 cents, HBO and Starz is $1.25, and my Total Chice Plus is $2.75.

The taxes vary widely, depending on which state you are in. Here in WA, only the leased receiver fee is taxed ($0.43 in my county). Florida and some others have dedicated satellite taxes which are much higher.

You don't pay sales tax on your entire bill in WA?

If I understand it right in Florida you pay state sales tax (at a pretty high rate!) plus a state satellite tax fee which is pretty high also. Here in Wisconsin we pay 5.5% sales tax which is 5 % state and .5% for county tax in all but a couple of counties. So a $100 D* bill has $5.50 tax added.
