I put my TV in 4x3 mode on the stretched HD, & there is notable improvement over the SD verison. The colors are considerably sharper. I do the same thing for History HD as well as A&E HD when they show stretched items. I see a big difference over the SD versions. Just doesn't work well for TNT HD because they use the wierd parabolic stretch (middle is fine, but stretched on sides), at least it was the last time I saw a stretch on it, it may have changed now.
