Neither does Directv.
Show me anywhere that Directv extends your contract for Subscribing to a Seasonal sports pack or receiving a credit.
With the exception of an Upgrade, where a Seasonal sports pack is an added perk.

And equipment, I've had a 612 and 1 722 that was OWNED and flagged leased.

They are both just as bad as the other.
I just signed my brother up for two commitments. One for a $40x12 credit with a 12 month commitment through their retention team, and one for NFL ST for free with a 12 month commitment also through the same retention agent. I would imagine it is not publicized as I tried to get this offer through the frontline agent and was denied til I asked for a retention agent. Also, you can see the same posts about it on the DTV forum, under the Sunday ticket thread.

And again you are just wrong. Most subscribers to DISH absolutely do use VIP equipment, not Hoppers. In fact from posts by installers on this site, VIP receivers still get installed very often even as or more often.
I don't remember saying that. I need to stop smoking so much reefer at night time. I know there is a huge demand for VIP equipment still. I think last I heard is only 5 million hoppers out there right now.

I'm not going to argue with you over your claim "DIRECTV TRAPS CUSTOMERS" which is why they have over 30 million total subscrbers.
That is the most ridiculous claim I've ever heard.

You Win DISH and Charlie are absolutely the most Honest thoughtful ,for the people company I've ever seen.
Start a poll over in the Directv forums and ask how many were forced into a Commitment from subscribing to a Seasonal sports pack existing promo of any kind that doesn't involve a receiver upgrade.

Again, read that thread. The Sunday ticket one. Charlie is not the most honest, the point is, Dish wasn't acting unfairly, greedy, or in any way that would be misconstrued as evil. Directv does trap people in, I would call it. People want discounts, fine but they will stay. That is a business move, and one I strongly support. People want a &300 saving a on ST, fine, but they will stay the whole year so the company makes their money back. It's not evil, and not dishonest, and not a trap. It is a way for a company to insure their investment. I am all for it. I think it benefits both the consumer and he company.

And the VIP'S is a broad assessment considering most customer from directv and Dish don't subscribe to DVR.

I'm sure there are 10 million VIPS, considering they were forced onto eastern arc customers since 2007.

5 million hoppers is impressive .
I bet there isn't 5 million 612,622,or 722 active. Because there is no way I believe Dish has 10 million HD DVR customers.

5 milliion boxes doesn't mean 5 milliion Hopper customers, nor should the same thinking be applied to ViP receivers either.

Wow did this thread derail. Listen people, there's no real difference between Directv, Dish, and cable when it comes to their intentions. Coming from a devout capitalist, the goal from all companies is to maximize profits. Where the goal from us as subscribers is to get the most for what we spend. If people are satisfied with the 722, then that's what it is. If Directv costomers are more excited about the Genie, then great. I choose Dish for the Hopper, EPIX, SiriusXM Music, etc. That's why works for me.

Going back to the original point of this thread, what is with TENGA stations claiming that Dish is keeping them off? You're off because you are just as greedy as Dish, you jackasses!

How is Dish being greedy for not wanting to increase the cost to themselves in order to redistribute a local channel service? How has the cost to the local channel provider gone up? What is Tenga trying to compensate for since the last contract, related to being redistibruted?

Pure greed on all of our behalf. Not one party involved wants to lose money. Everyone wants the most bang for their buck. Dish will stop being greedy when they pass their savings onto customers. When I receive an letter stating that my rates are going down, then I'll say that Dish isn't greedy. We all are, you and I included.

Simple, when Dish blacks out the customers.
It basically states I don't care what the customer wants, I'm not cutting into my profit.
That's greed.
And again we don't know the ins and outs of contract negotiations.
But Charlie got you brain washed enough to not hold him responsible.

Sorry, Until I'm sitting at the table, They are both at fault.

Dish doesn't black out the stations though. It is the channel owner that has the position to pull their channels in lieu of a contract. Dish can only choose to not accept a new contract for carriage. Such is MavTV.

But aren't we talking within the confines of the OP here? Dish is negotiating with the Local broadcast provider. Dish is trying to make the increase as low as they can. Where I am confused is that if Dish fights back and gets Tenga not to increase rates, that somehow the bill goes down. Why would the bill go down? The fights are to help limit how much our bills go up.

And if I don't pay my Bill Dish would pull my channels.

Was that supposed to be a reasonable response to the point the other poster made? You alleged X, it was shown to be incorrect, then you respond red herring.
