I've never been a fan of the "answered" and "best answer" tags. They get abused to the point of becoming meaningless on some forums (I'm looking at you, Microsoft!) where some script monkey who doesn't even understand the question posts a canned response and marks it as answered. I'm sure that won't happen here, but I just have an unconscious aversion to seeing the tags at all anymore.

It must be like Beavs2112 said in the other thread within the Fta Shack, the Best Answer is only enabled in some of the forums.

Yes only certain forums have it turned on. The shack is a place to just chit chat. If you want to ask a question come here to the main forum.

BUT ---- I have gone to other threads in this forum (such as http://www.satelliteguys.us/xen/threads/72w-103w-question.342833/) - asking a question - NO button, at least for me. Some have said only the OP can mark best answer. But others were able to mark best answer in this thread - before I had a chance to do so.
