Yeah seems like they load a bunch of their stuff on the device which kind of stinks due to you will already have to get a SD card for the device. Manufactures should always keep as much space free on the device.

It would be very bad design to have that be the only method of unlocking the phone. I would bet that you still setup a PIN code or password as a secondary method should the primary fail.

Yeah I think they have that in place already if it does not work. I guess it's just that the scanner is not always reliable is all.
