The trade everyone forgot: Dirk Nowitzki for Robert Tractor Traylor

Diffucult to imagine, but Dirk was drafted by Milwaukee and Traylor by Dallas, and the trade took place on draft day. Milwaukee even threw in someone named Pat Gerrity to make the trade happen. And at that point the direction of two franchises changes instantly.

As lopsided as that trade was, it pales in comparison to the Celtics-Warriors trade prior to the 1980 draft.

Golden State traded Robert Parish and the third overall pick (Kevn McHale) to Boston for the first overall pick (Joe Barry Carroll) and thirteenth overall pick (Rickey Brown).

We all know what Parish and McHale accomplished in Boston.
