The Twelfth Siyum HaShas Of Daf Yomi

Huh?

The first was a mass gathering of men dressed in black, bobbing and singing and exalting in unfamiliar languages. A huge and intense crowd in Jersey.

The second was a barbecue and political gathering in a Kentucky town of the same name where many politicians turned tail and were no shows this year. Would have been great to see ordinary citizens grilling their elected representatives, but you can't sear the flesh if the meat walks away.

Without FTA I would never have heard of either of these. Has FTA ever opened your eyes to something new? Specifically what?

yes fta has opened my eyes to many new venues,some the average non fta people will never see.I have been in conversation with differant people about what's on tv,and when i tell them what i saw on 97W for instance that's in another country...they look at me and ask...are you stealing tv..LOL..man if they took the time and ask questions maybe they would get in to fta.

Well when that Brazilian porn channel went ITC a few months ago...I was more than once.....Dang I ain't heared of dat befo'... LOL

Things I never would have seen or heard of without FTA
-funny channel names. I still giggle when I see posts back in the day about the channel called "SNOT" or snowboy, plowboy
-camel races (as noted above)...although our local horse race track does that once a year where they race camels and ostriches
-small time college games from the middle of nowhere
-first thing was news from around the world on different views like CCTV9 and now Russia Today, JC1, Al Jazerah English, press TV, etc

just lots of weird channels out there. Some of those ethnic channels are just crazy. My main like of FTA is the sports feeds
