thinking of moving to DTV

Have cable (non HD) and recently got a flat panel TV and want to switch to DTV.

Regarding new DTV subscribers, do they get a standard box or do I need to request one. I would like their Choice XTRA + HD DVR.

Anything else you can recommend before calling them. I just want to make sure that I get what is needed.

If you don't have a need for HD signals, let them know and they will send the appropriate box, actually same goes for HD too.
If you want DVR as well let them know.
D* will send whatever the installation company has in stock.

IF you want a specific rec. I would suggest getting one locally, then you will need the dish as well, which will also cost. If you already have the correct dish then your good to go.

IF you not concerned about what Rec you get, just call D* and see what kind of a deal you can get from them, you get a free install for basic stuff and the dish too (dish to buy is $ 100, if it's the slimline type)
