Need a little help. Here's what I have. I have two HDTV. I would like 2 HDDVR. I would subscribe to the everything package and would like all HD available channels. I also like how one cable come inside my apartment from the dish to the splitter where only one cable goes to each receiver from there on my current set up. Is dish able to provide same install? If you need more info I can provide.

Thanks

America's "Everything" Pak is currently $104.99. Here is a PDF file of the channel list: http://www.dishnetwork.com/downloads/Channel-Lineup/StandardHDChannelGuide.pdf. HD would be free for life as long as you meet the terms of the HD FREE for Life promotion. However, you would most likely would get $15 off a month for the first year ($84.99). I am guessing that you would get a discount for the three free months of Showtime as well.

You would most likely want the Platinum add-on for the current price of $10.00/month. However, you would most likely get three months free of it.

I know that you said that you want all the HD channels. Of course, you would have access to HD PPV, but do you want any sports HD channels or adult HD channels? I am not sure if there are any monthly adult channels; I remember a while back that Hustler was added in HD. I do not think it is the monthly one, though. I just wanted some clarification on what you meant by all HD channels available.

How many TVs do you have? I know that you say that you have 2 HDTVs. Do you have any SD TVs?
I am sure that you would want HD on your HDTVs. Therefore, you could do 2 722 HD Duos unless you want to pay for 922s. However, with this setup, you could add 2 SDTVs for TV2s. This would allow you to do on demand and DVR. Currently, the first receiver is included in the base price. Therefore, a second HD Duo DVR or 722 would be $17.00/month along with the $6 DVR fee. I believe the 922 is higher if you have a second one ($21.00/month last time I checked), and I believe the DVR fee for that one is $10/month.

Another way (although you would not get On Demand this way) would be to have 2 211s. This would eliminate the monthly DVR fee. However, you would pay a one time $39.99 fee to convert them to DVRs with EHDs (which you could purchase yourself if you do not have any). Remember though that there is no On Demand this way. This would take care of 2 HDTVs if you do not have any other HDTVs or SDTVs. The first 211 would be included in the base price while the second 211 would be $7/month. Remember, no DVR fees (although no On Demand, though).

I hope that this helps. :) Good luck with everything. Let us know if you have any questions and how it goes.

Mojo Jojo,

Thanks for the info. I don't have any additional TV. Just the 2 HDTV. I would want all HD channels. Not interested in sports HD or Adult HD at this time. I would like the On demand but that 17.00 charge is steep. Gotta think about that. How about the install set up can dish do similar if not the same as I currently have with DTV?

I do not see why Dish could not do a similar install setup up if not the same as you have with DirecTV. Anyone want to jump in and help us? :)

This may also be helpful:

For some reason, the promo credit is showing up $20/month a year. That would be nice. :)

Well, if you have just two HDTVs, then you could do two Solo HD DVRs. I am guessing that would be the 612 model. That would be $10/month instead of $17/month. That does sound better. :)

One thing I did like when we switched from DirecTV to Dish:

Order Summary (This would be the 2 Solo HD DVRs where you can access On Demand):
[You could also do an HD Duo receiver( where you can access On Demand and have PIP in single mode...It would also allow you to add a third TV although with an SD feed....) and an HD Solo receiver
The only thing with this is the $99 fee; however, as I have learned with D*, it is best to try to get the equipment right the first time. :)

One Time Set-up Charges

Additional Receiver Upgrade Fee (HD DVR) $99.00

Digital Home Advantage Activation Fee $99.00

DHA Credit -$99.00

Total One-Time Fees $99.00

Uh-oh. What is this $99 fee? I guess it is for having more than one DVR? Does this $99 fee also occur at Dishstore, Claude?

Monthly Fees

DVR Fee $6.00

Additional Receiver Lease Fee $10.00

Service Plan $6.00

Programming Fees

America's "Everything" Pak $104.99

Local Channels Included

DishHD Free For Life w/ DISH Platinum $10.00

Subtotal $136.99

Savings
Showtime Free for 3 mo. -$13.00
DISH Platinum Free for 3 mo. -$10.00
Promo credit 1 of 12 -$20.00
Service Plan Free for 6 mo. -$6.00

Total Monthly Price $87.99

You do not have to keep the service plan, but you can get it free for six months. I would take the free offer, and then, you can get rid of it after six months if you feel that you do not need it. I also think someone here mentioned that there should be a year warranty on the Dish receivers, but do not quote me on that.

Yes, a 722 and a 612 ($10 extra receiver fee) sounds about right. But Dish cannot feed multiple receivers over a single coax from the dish. It can be a single coax per receiver...

TheKrell,

Do you know how many lines would have to come from the dish to the inside apartment splitter to give me dual tuner on both HDDVR receivers?

Thanks

You could get a 722k and add a sling adapter to run 2 HDTV's. That would be $100 less than the sling loaded 922. No additional DVR fee this way. It would also only have 1 cable coming into the house.

Order Summary (This would be the 1 Solo HD DVR where you can access Video On Demand and 1 211 Solo HD Receiver that you could convert into a DVR with an external hard drive but no Video On Demand):

(This would also work with 1 Duo HD DVR where you can access Video On Demand and 1 211 Solo HD Receiver that you could convert into a DVR with an external hard drive but no Video On Demand--I know you said that you wanted receivers for 2 HDTVs--However, you could use the 722 HD Duo in single mode for PIP along with DVR--Later, you may want to add a 3rd TV although it would be standard def.--Currently, the higher receiver is included with the base fee--So, would not hurt...--Someone also mentioned the Sling Adapter for the 722):

One Time Set-up Charges Digital Home Advantage Activation Fee$99.00
DHA Credit -$99.00
Total One-Time Fees FREE

Although it is not showing up here, do not forget that you would have that one time $39.99 fee still.

Thank you everyone for jumping in! :) I appreciate it.

I am sorry, Scott. I did not realize that. I did not know that DishStore had better promos for new customers. I was just saying what I had done when I subbed.:(

not to hijack the thread (if it does feel free to delete)

I'm switching from Cable to E* -- have the same setup (but just the 250 package) 2 HDTV's

I too am confused (unlike) the 17.00 fee for having dual 722K units over the $10.00 fee if I went with dual 612 DVR's... Question is based the extra dive, and sling adapter what is bad about the 612's? From some simple searching here the 612 seems older and heavily prone to audio issues and other oddities -- so is it best to suck it up each month and get the 722k or is it a wash and save some dough?

thanks in advance,
'john

You don't have to get 2 of the same thing. Your first DVR is free, so go for a 722k. The second is where the single/dual fees kick in. So a 211k with an external drive would be the cheapest at $7. Dual tuners, etc. go up from there.
