Great win by Tiger and a EPIC CHOKE job by Sergio Garcia. Hot putter working going into the island green on 17. 2 straight balls into the drink. I guess that's what he get for talking crap because he could not take the pressure of pairing up with Tiger and his fans.

Rest of the field beware...

yeah but somehow sergio choking is tigers fault :haha . glad tiger got the win.

Can you believe that whiny little biach?! Tiger took his shot AFTER the PGA officials told him he could take his shot. I would have LOVED if they were still paired so I can see the excuse from that Gallego comemierda after he hit two in the water.

Garcia choking and being a whiny bitch are a given...we all knew he would blow it, but I was waiting for an 18th hole flippity-flop-drop-chop by Chokes Garcia. However, did you witness the absolutely classless, A-Hole, idiot fans that were cheering when Garcia pulled a Patsy Cline (you know, 'Fall to Pieces')? You cheer when your player does something notable to win the even---or in appreciation for a good effort or sportsmanship---but you do not openly cheer (and laugh and sing and celebrate) against an opposing player...especially when that player hits a bad shot. That's both tasteless and tactless! Just like Woods, his fans are scumbags and derelicts of the highest disorder.

Yes...and I hated it. Do you hear the rude douche yell "water on the left" just before Sergio teed off on 18? Look, just about every single Spaniard(...affectionately called "Gallegos" in Spanish) I know are jerks, especially spaniard men ....but the deal was done, no need to add salt to the wound.

I'm glad you noticed it because none of the NBC announcers called out the behavior. I was a Woods Fan for years, but never would I openly celebrate should he have shanked one out-of-play. Golf fans have always had more class. Even if you don't like the player (Garcia is easy to dislike) you just keep it shut and cheer for your player. On a positive note, hopefully people will start paying attention to the Golf threads because it has been extremely quiet around here since Woods has not been winning. We shall see.

I have been to 3 out of the last five times he has played Doral and that guy is followed AS MUCH if not MORE than Michael Jordan and Lebron James.

NOW the issue is that he swears and drops the F-bomb too much when he misses shots. REALLY?! There isn't a SINGLE golfer, pro or amateur that has not drop AT LEAST a "sh!7" when they have missed a shot they KNEW they could have or should have made.

Did Eldrick tell a fib??

"The marshals, they told me he already hit, so I pulled a club and was getting ready to play my shot," Woods explained, "and then I hear [Garcia's] comments afterward and it's not real surprising that he's complaining about something."

"He didn't ask us nothing," marshal Gary Anderson said Sunday, according to a report by Sports Illustrated. "We didn't say nothing. We're told not to talk to the players."

Chief marshal John North was also present for Woods' controversial shot on the par-5 hole.

"Nothing was said to us and we certainly said nothing to him," North said, according to Sports Illustrated. "I was disappointed to hear him make those remarks. We're there to help the players and enhance the experience of the fans. He was saying what was good for him. It lacked character."

Marshals: No 'go-ahead' to Tiger

Maybe he heard something and misunderstood? Maybe he asked the Marshall's, they didn't hear him and misunderstood as a go ahead to hit his ball? The fact that someone would accused a golfer to incite a crowd to make noise because he pulled out a club has to be the LAMEST excuse for hitting a wayward shot I have ever heard in my life.

What was his excuse for hitting two balls in the water?

Sergio has to grow a pair and just say he f$&ked up.

Not true, said Nedrich, of Fleming Island, Fla, and Lance Paczkowski, of St. Augustine, Fla. They told the Times-Union they were within 10 to 12 yards of Woods.

They said there was communication, and that Woods only mistook the sequence of events. Paczkowski, who walked with Woods all 18 holes with a team of escorts, said he even asked Woods if he needed any more fans moved.

"He said, 'No ... I'm good,'" Paczkowski said. "We talk to players all the time, if we need to in regards to their needs and crowd control."

Nedrich, who said he could barely see Garcia, got a glimpse of him swinging, then saw the ball in the air. When fans behind Woods began to stir, Paczkowski, his view of Garcia blocked by bushes, tried to quiet them and said, "the other player (Garcia) hasn't hit yet."

"That's when I yelled back at Lance, 'No ... he's already hit,'" Nedrich said. "Tiger had already taken his club, but we did tell him that Sergio had hit."

Nedrich told the newspaper that he understands why Woods was mistaken about the timeline.

From that ESPN article...

This entire he said, she said nonsense is so silly. More important to me is whether Wood did, in fact, make the statement, "I'm a getting better..." If so, was he chewin' tobaccy or dippin' at the time? :p

Anyway, the next important (major) event is the U.S. Open from June 13-16, 2013 hosted at the Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, PA. IMO, Tiger can win tour events, but he will never be considered the greatest golfer of all-time if he cannot surpass Jack's record of 18 major championship wins, and it has been a long time since he last won in 2008.

He did say it in his press conference after the match.

Perhaps a better perspective comes from the fact that Snead got to 78 at the age of 46, while Woods is just 37, and quite within his rights to end the day on an ominous note. ‘I do believe I am getting better,’ he said.

There have been issues with professional athletes from Spain regarding race. There was a big issue not too long ago where during either World Cup qualifying games or "friendlies", whenever the opposing teams black players would either receive the ball or kick the ball, there would be bananas thrown on the soccer field or gorilla grunts in the crowd.

I just saw this in the mainstream media and was going to post. Apparently, Sergio wanted to sit down with Tiger and hash out their differences over a bucket of fried chicken.

Well, at least he didn't say anything about their having watermelon for desert and sharing a ho or two. :disco:

Anyway, Sergio apologized for his latest remark so perhaps they can hash things out over a plate of tacos and guacamole. What a douche!

Now Sergio went into FULL "whoa is me" mode to look like the good guy. Unless he TRULY extends a olive branch PERSONALLY, instead of using "my people talking to your people"....he is gonna look like an idiot.
