Over the past several months, I have noticed that around 9:00AM EST, my Time Warner Digital cable box will hose (lock-up). I can even use the remote to TURN OFF the box, and the ON indicator goes away, however, the cable signal remains on screen.
If I enter different channel numbers, then after anywhere from 3 to 11 (11 is the record) minutes, it will come out of this state and start running through all of the channels I have queued up.
My question is this: WHAT is TWC doing at 9:00AM Eastern Standard Time that would cause the box to do this on a daily basis? Are they checking for and pushing updates? Are they downloading the previous day's channel data so they can monitor what channels are being watched and for what duration? I know there is a simple reason for this, does someone have this same experience or know the answer? I have not called the "technical service" for TWC about this yet as I'd prefer a non-corporate answer as to what's happening.
Peace.
Scott
