Time Warner Cable Brings Back $20, 1 Mbps Offer As Triple Play, and Cable VoIP, Begins to Die

There was a good article posted in yesterday's Wall St. Journal that talked about the churn rate of landline based Internet providers increasing as lower bandwith users (mail, surfiing, blogging only) move to using wireless devices (phones, tablets and cellular modems/hotspots) and public wi-fi to provide Internet access. They are choosing to eliminate Cable/FIOS Internet service over TV service which according to the article has a lower churn rate.

Got a mailing today from Mediacom offering 15Mb service for $19.95/month for a year with a 2 year agreement requirement. Not a bad deal all in all, but since the 2nd year is at $64.95, not quite as good as it could be.
