yes i know that swanni is not a reliable source but i wanted for you guys to read this article today

Time Warner Cable has lowered the carriage fee for SportsNet LA by 30 percent in a bid to persuade more TV providers to carry the channel prior to the April 4th opening of the Los Angeles Dodgers season, reports The Los Angeles Times.

Time Warner Cable and Charter are the only major TV providers in the Los Angeles market that carry the channel, which began airing Dodgers games in 2014. TWC has been forced to demand high carriage fees to offset its agreement to pay the Dodgers $8.35 billion over 25 years for the rights to manage the channel.

If you read closely it says that discount is for one year only.

However, the newspaper adds that TWC's offer is good only for the 2016 season, which could irk DIRECTV and the other providers which tend to favor longer contracts to keep customers from jumping around.
