Where did you get this idea? At the station where I'm an engineer when we switch over not what date we do it we will not be staying with the pre-transition channel. If we did it would wipe out half of the DMA to the north of us for one channel. In fact even at the lower power we are running now we wiped out 1 town in that DMA. We are going to have to contact one of the stations to the north of us to see when they are going to transition to keep from wiping them out if we go to the analog channel we are using now. Oh BTW digital wipes out an analog channel every time.

What I meant was the FCC wanted stations that shut analog off early to stay on their pre transition channel until 6/12. Probably not a bad idea to rescan on 2/18 and 6/13 though.

The commission also told stations that if they terminate analog before June 12, they must continue to broadcast on their temporary DTV channel rather than their final channel. If they want instead to move to their final channel allotment, they must file a request for special temporary authority.

mine was set to record SCC as always, but Dollhouse which I had set up already had an X and said "incorrect event". Glad you said something or I would have missed that one.
