Tivo trouble?

I just got Tivo 2 weeks ago. So tonight I tape the Orange Bowl (what a waste). Anyway a little after 11:30pm still during the end of the 3rd quarter the Tivo stops recording. I hit the info & it says 11pm news. I thought the Tivo was smart enough to look past this?

So is my problem that the guide tells Tivo the news is on now & it stops recording because of that? How can I add time to a sports program that might into OT & how much time can you add?

It's been a long time since I had my tivo working but there was and I assume still is an option to record longer than the scheduled show times. I don't remember how but I do remember it was easy to setup.

You can set it to start early or run late. The Tivo schedule is only as good as the guide data it gets, since it lives off the guide. Sports are especially vulnerable on this. If it runs over Tivo does not know to keep recording.

It's in the record options (I don't have my tivo in front of me or I would find the option).
