Given feature parity, I'd take a TiVo Premiere UI and experience over my HR2x units. Since that doesn't exist, there's no real choice to be made.

Now that DirecTV's new HD User Interface is slowly rolling out, I have to say there's NO reason for Tivo anymore.
The new HD UI has much better graphics - up to 1080p in 16:9 to be exact. Crystal clear, crisp fonts and cover art. MRV, Media Share, YouTube, DirecTV2PC, DirecTV iPad app, remote DVR programming, DirecTV ipad streaming, Nomad, DirecTV Video on Demand, IP Control, Caller ID on screen, etc.. The update fixes performance and now the guide scrolls so much faster than before. Tivo doesn't have a cutting edge program either.
AND coming real soon, the HR34. 5 tuners! PIP! What more can you want? Tivo was good in 1999. It's OK for Cable (Since Cable DVR's are so subpar). It's 2011 now DirecTV's HDUI on the HD set tops and DVR's blow Tivo away!
