Ok, I was out of contract with direct tv and wanted sunday ticket, wanted the best possible price for ticket. After all was said and ton he offered me a $250 one time credit towards sunday ticket so then I just paid $50 bucks and ticket was paid for. GREAT! I had a $10/month credit on my account already at the time but that has since dropped off because it was only a 6 month credit. So i have no active discounts per month on my account currently. Well last year in order to get the new customer deal direct tv set me up with a move to my same address and gave me the new customer deal, great. Well I moved recently so they wanted $200 bucks because I already moved, well..i never actually moved. So a manager saw what happened and wanted me to pay but I got the manager to waive the $200 movers fee because direct tv wasn't even supposed to setup a move to get me the new customer deal.

So now I have a total of $450 credits on my account. Not active per month credits but they are there and gone already.

I called up to try and get 10 off per month got HD access but i'm told that my account is on a freeze basically for having to many credits in a 6 month period and that NO ONE can add anything to my account even though I show eligible for free movie channels and 10 off per month.

Is there anything I can do? Call a special number?

Watch a bunch of porn! Get those credits down fast!!!

LOL, well they're not really credits because i'm paying full price now every month. The one free move you get costs $200 if you've already used your move so that got "waived" not really adding me discounts. Then the $250 one time credit was basically for staying with them while being out of contract. I'm still out of contract too.

I've only tried twice but was told the same thing both times.

How long have you had Directv? My contract expires in Two months and I am getting no dice on deals for NFLST. The best I get is free Redzone.

Let's see, you have a $450 credit on your account, and they won't give you an additional $10/month, and you come here to whine and complain about it? You will get NO sympathy from me!

Even if you find a rep to add some form of credit to your acct (free month of premium channel, $5 off for 3 mo, etc) an audit team will reverse that credit. There is no staying in contract with D*. The fact that a rep gave you a really nice freebie to stay is more than most get. The fact that they found a way to work around the system to give you a 2nd new customer deal is also more than most get. $450 in credits, that don't follow policy, definitely raises a red flag to the audit team. I don't blame you for accepting the credits, but the truth is that it is over the amount allowed. It means you'll have to pay your regular bill that many of us already pay.

Thats about the way I would look at it too, thye gave you your money back already, your allowed 1 Move every 12 months from what I remember that they will cover and you got them to cover MORE than that.

Interesting question jaj......I would like to know this as well. I would think they wouldn't count against you because you are bringing new business to them for 24 months.

Just curious, do REFERRAL credits count "against" a subscriber when your looking to get other discounts?

No referral credits no not negatively impact your account in that way.

Basically Credits will fall under one of 4 categories

New customer credits ( they do count what offers you get considering how much we give in new customer credits )

Referral credits ( dont really affect the account )

Promotional Credits ( credits given for a promotional reason like HBO 2for1 offer with cinemax is a promo offer so the credits for the free cinemax etc fall under this category again it plays a role but is weighted differently )

Retention credits ( Programing ) discounts off movie channels , monthly bill credits , nflst credits free superfan now nfl to go all fall under this and this counts more then the first 3 do

Discretionary credit - Credit that is given at an agents/supervisors discretion this ways the most. As these credits fall under the misc category when all else fails and there is nothing we can do that is with in policy discretionary credit comes out. This is will count against you the most. If some one gave 250 dollars off nfl st it was discretionary credit. Same with the movers issue of 200. Which in my opinion should of never been given but that is me I am a hard ass on credits.

Also I like to point out that the computer flags an account but all that means is flaged for review by senior management , management then puts the block on credits.

Do referral credits give you a better heart rating? Is there still such a thing and if so how do they help someone?

I made a call to Directv to ask specifically for a reduction in NFLST and the offered $100 off so took it. The guy mentioned to me that I had a credit flag on my account because a few current credits. The thing is the credits on there were placed by Directv and nothing I ever was told or asked if I wanted. One of them was supposed to be automatic. Since I do subsrcibe to Premimum with Protection along with HD pack and Gameplan it likely made the difference. The other thing is my contract expires on 10/31/10 and they are now tossing other things at me to re-up a new two year. I will not go to Dish because I watch MLB Network and ESPNU frequently so my options are limited.

There is flagged and then there is flagged,

If a customer is flagged known as the FMD flag then the agent in question would face disciplinary action and the nfl credits would be reversed. But if it was just flagged where it start limited orders in our system where we have to then use discretionary credit then that not the same flag. One is way more serious then the other.

Where does the Free RedZone fall under? I have the 2for1 HBO/Cinemax deal right now but that is expiring in September. Ideally I'd like to get the RZ deal and something toward HD. (I've been OOC for over a year.)

Is the RZ deal something I could request in leiu of my 1 free PPV anniversary gift?

......I would also like to add HD Xtra Pack and Cricket Ticket for $0.00. I'm one that will give anything a try...for free. But I may decline things if I know it could have an impact on future deals I might be more interested in.

Also, just curious....do you know if Cricket Ticket auto-renews after when next season starts?
