I recently acquired a Toshiba TRX-80 receiver in a BUD deal for a non-TV related project. It has a blue General Instruments Video Cipher RS "descrambler module" (model VCRS MOM) plugged into the back of it.
Is this useful/ worth anything or is it old school analog technology that's no longer used ?

Tnx.

The reciever will still be good to move a large dish, select polarity and recieve free analog satellite signals. The Videocypher module can only be used to sub to the very few VC analog channels left, and they are all going bye bye at the end of December anyways. Keep the receiver and junk the VC module.

Brick size LNBs - Useful? Or are they door stops?
