Going on a Christmas trip in a few weeks and determining what devices to take to stay connected. N

My best bet is my venue 8 pro. It offers most everything my surface pro 3 does, and is more portable while offering far more if I need to do work than my iPad or any android tablet I've had.

The windows platform has come a long way on touch devices.

I take my 10" tablet everywhere I go. In the summer it fits in my cargo shorts with the case on it. I need to learn how to convert a dvd to avi so I can play video for our trip next year.

I take my Venue 8 Pro everywhere, unless it involves work and I'm going to be gone for more than a week to 10 days, then I might take a laptop too. A 32gb memory card loaded with tv shows and movies and a bunch of books is all I need on the Dell.

If it involves work, then all my work files are in the cloud on my Box, Google Doc's or One Drive so I just need internet to make changes to them and I can hotspot my phone for that if no free wifi is around.
