Do a blind scan of 139 West, and you should see the first video mux EVER on the vertical polarity.
4080-V @ 30.000 Note that all Alaska spot beam channels are on horizontal, and don't get out much past western Montana.
What should appear is an 18 channel multiplex of 9 Alaskan broadcast stations and 9 US major cable channels---all in MPEG-4 and even when found on Sunday, already encrypted.
This looks like a very efficient way for GCI to serve all of their cable systems around remote parts of Alaska, using the same antenna/opposite polarity on 139 as they use for telecommunications traffic. It also gets out to all of the US Lower 48 plus Alaska and Hawaii. But it also would appear to be the end of the road for the Anchorage networks that have been in the clear on 137 West for much of the last couple of years and beyond. Will they cut the cord on May 1, May 15, June 1, or (pick your date)?

EVER? There have been quite a few video feeds on 139W in the past - iditarod highlight or raw video feeds supposedly for media or someone in CONUS.

anyway, the Anchorage channels will probably go FTA once in a while like they did at 137 west. I do agree the days of their longer term FTA availability are probably gone.
