We are trying to get Galaxy 18 @ 123 degrees west for espn on c-band. The only meter we have is an old super buddy 29. Meter was updated to 2.74 field guide. It has no setting for Galaxy 18? We tried getting the dish aligned as best we could using dishpointer.com. Tried using the receiver to get a lock too... HELP. Im fairly new to this and work for a hillybilly company that is super tight on $. We have a 12foot dish just for this bird.

Try to tune on 4040 V DVB-S2 8PSK 30000-3/4.
Or 4020 H DVB-S2 8PSK 30000-5/6.
I take it you have a AZ-EL mount and not a polar?

You could identify 125w using 3760 H or 3790 H or 3960 H or 4149 V (these are DVBS) then spin east a few degrees. This would get you in the ball park within a few degrees.

Otherwise, use the DSR-7403 tuned to 4160 V 34286 to ID the stream.

Since only the H LNB is hooked up, vertical is out. The receiver is truly a commercial unit. Info on the 'net points to it's HBO and Max purpose. And from the looks of the dish mount that is what it was receiving and decoding previously. Tight budget or not. It's about time to invest in at least a new receiver, switch, cabling (where's that vertical LNB cable?). That's my offering.

receiver is brand new. dish and LNB old. only had 1 LNB hooked up for alignment purposes.

Ok... just some more info. We run 60 SD channels on an old cable system. Its remote. Not a lot of customers. With the c-band repack, we are going to lose a lot of channels and will not be investing money in dishes, meters, receivers, LNBs, ect... We have what we have and that's it. Moving to iptv. Just trying to hold on to what we can for as long as we can... For the old Ladies that cant figure out how to run streaming devices lol.
