trying to update software in a Coolsat 8000

I recently purchased coolsat 8000 receiver, It has SW 11170A how do I get it to 2025A. I've ran upgrade 3.01 uploader and downloaded files from here. But I cannot get coolsat 8000 to recognize the upgrade. What is proper sequence? Turn receiver on off at what point? Thanks in advance!

Negative, it needs a null modem cable. The transfer should be started at the PC, then the CS8000 powered on at the back switch.

When I was using my CS8100 I used a USB stick to do the upgrade.
From memory, connect the USB while the STB is off (back switch off), then switch on the CS; check if the USB is recognized and proceed to the upgrade.
