My DISH system is well over ten years old and the dish has DISH TurboHD stenciled across the front. It does have a ring on the back with degree markings. Does anyone know what, if any skew, it should be set at for zip 17963?

I moved it around a little bit from where it was at and picked up 5 more signal points. I downloaded a .pdf from dish and it looks like I should be in the 125 to 128 range for skew but the dish is a least 40 degrees off from that?

Thanks

If you are 40 degrees off the needed skew, you would only be getting signal from the center satellite. I suspect you are looking at skew numbers for Western Arc (110, 119, 129) but are on Eastern Arc (61, 72, 77).

DishPointer.com lists the skew for your zip as 128.3 degrees for Western Arc and 85.7 for Eastern Arc.

If your mast isn't plumb, a slight skew adjustment can increase signal levels for the two "outside" satellites.

Can you take a picture of what you have? The over 10 years old makes me wonder if it is an original 1000. The 1000 was the smallest HD dish DISH has made it had a TWIN LNB and a SINGLE LNB connected to the twin. and was aimed at WESTERN ARC only. If that is what you have just replace it with a 1000.2.

You are correct in that I was looking at the western arc skew while being on the eastern and and the mast is slightly off plumb. I did the left, right, up, down, and skew and locked it at the highest signal number which is in the high 50s.
