TV mode on remote with Joey

Got a Joey system a few months ago, I enjoy it quite a bit.

I have noticed that I cannot use my Dish remote to control my TV other than volume, i.e. to change inputs, etc. If I choose the TV button on my remote, it flashes red several times, then goes back to the satellite option.
