At the end of last year I went nuts and spent a lot of $$$ on brand new Sony gear to replace a 15+ year old setup. Had a few things that came up preventing me from setting everything up, but 6 months later I'm starting the process. I bought the 65" Bravia 8 II 65 (K65XR80M2) and seven of their CS Series speakers, including the center channel SS-CS8M2, plus the AZ5000 ES A/V receiver. Problem is at max height, the feet of the TV doesn't clear the speaker and I don't have the room to put it in on the shelf below as that where the A/V receiver is. I use a glass top entertainment stand that houses everything perfectly.

I know nothing absolutely nothing about mounting TVs, VESA or anything related. I found a shelf on Amazon that will attach the the back of the TV for the center channel to sit on and have it be above the screen. The mount is good for up to 400 x 400 mm, the TV is 300 x 300 from what I looked up. I have no idea what those numbers mean.

The shelf itself will hold the speaker no problem, the dimensions are good and it's rated for 22 lbs, the speaker is just under 12.

Before I pull the trigger, does any one see an issue with this? thanks

I use this to raise my TV above some equipment. This is instead of the feet that come with the TV.

Grrr, direct link to Amazon doesn't seem to work. Search for Echogear TV Legs.

Are you wanting to Hang the TV from the wall, or make the TV still use the stand but only higher ?

If you want to use the stand, I'd look at what Klang just posted ...
Otherwise there are a Ton of different wall mounts, just make sure you get a Quality one and hit at least 1 stud .
Btw, the numbers you mentioned are the distance for the holes in the TV for mounting the bracket to the TV .

Fyi, I Think the different TV brands have thier own thread and depths for the screws to mount, unfiortunately its no Universal.

I thought that's why we have VESA.

What I posted about uses the VESA holes on the back of the TV. It came with numerous sized bolts to accommodate the different threading.

I don't know. I have a similar wall mount for my 55" Bravia. My Sony soundbar is mounted on the wall just under it. It has screw keyholes for that. Mine was from BestBuy. The shelf looks pretty cool. Wish they had them when I was shopping. You can pull the TV out from the wall, push it in towards. Angle it L&R to get rid of any reflections of the wifey sneaking up behind you with a butcher knife, etc...... You know. It adjusts for level as well up and down a bit.
The good quality wall mounts I've seen come with a mess of screws and spacers and lag bolts.
You'll want to be sure to sink those bolts dead-knutz in the wall studs. I used a stolen darning needle to probe the drywall and find the edges of the studs after I found them. I mean dead center so there's no chance of splintering the edge of a supposedly solid stud mount.

I believe these may be the mounts that klang referenced:

I suppose it depends on how tall your center channel speaker is, as I'm not sure mine would fit (an old M&K LCR55 that is about 7" laying on its side).

I'm not entirely convinced that these are going to be great at preventing side-to-side tipping, but there's a model with a widened stance:

I was looking at those a while back, I would have tried them, but ultimately decided to buy the mounts that came with the TV, that had been lost when it got mounted (this was a case of needing a way to place TV back on the stand, I found the legs on Ebay much cheaper than original prices)

Neither. Having a wall mounted TV never appealed to me at all. Aside from in commercial environments, I don't think TVs look good hanging on the wall in general. Those feet and various other stands that use VESA mounts, look like a possible solution, but the Vivo mount to put it over the TV is more to my liking. I ordered it this afternoon, I'll see how it works and I have to figure out what kind of screws it takes, since it doesn't come with them.

If that doesn't work, I may get some type of stand or skinny table and just sit it behind the TV with the speaker on top.

According to the Amazon reviews, people are reporting that it does not come with the screws/bolts. Which I guess makes sense if there's no standard between TV manufactures. I thought that VESA was supposed to be some sort of idiot proof standard. I guess not. Having 0 experience with TV mounts until now, I always assumed (incorrectly) they were were like the snap on mounts like you see on commercial grade PC monitors with adjustable bases.

I took a look at the back of the TV a little bit ago and it came with the a screw in each one of the holes on the back, so I think I may be good. It looks like the TV uses something called an M6 screw.

Sony uses M6 screws ... that much I know.
Nothing with these mounts snap together, everything should bolt (the rails on the back of the TV ) together.

There are several different types of mounts.
