Remember When

Nakamichi shouldn't have gone out of business with all the money I sent their way! I had a Nakamichi cassette receiver in my 1982 Audi Coupé. I had their separates Tuner, Pre-amp, and Class-A Amplifier. Someone paid me for the Amp, but I still have the tuner and pre-amp in the basement, along with the Nakamichi head unit. I had used Nakamichi cassette decks over the years, too. Nothing like a Dragon or 1000, simpler, cheaper 500-series units.

(my setup circa 1980 with my B&O 6000 Tangental tracking turntable, Nakamichi 580 cassette deck, Yamaha A-1 Integrated Amplifier,, and Yamaha T-1 tuner.)

Built my first system while still in the Air Force. Pioneer receiver, Fisher speakers, Dual 1218 turntable, Teac cassette deck. All available through the PX.
Old friend and neighbor growing up brought his system back from Thailand, I was impressed with his reel to reel player, never got one though. (he was Air Force dog handler there(Vietnam war))

My brother bought my AKAI receiver/amp. Said it's the answer word to the Klan challenge word AYAK.
