two Hoppers and one joey

If I get 2 Hoppers( one for my wife and one for me) and one joey won't this allow 6 programs to be recorded at one time? I do not care about Primetime.

yes, as long as you are not wanting to watch a LIVE program.

Also, the Big-4 will only take ONE tuner.

Yes PTAT only uses one tuner. So you would still have 5 available. The Joey does take a tuner on the Hopper it is connected to.

dish Rep. really confused me on this subject

The Dish Rep. Said Both Hoppers and the Joey will all be connected together. Can't I just connect the Joey to my Hopper and leave my wife's in her own world? Thanks for your help.

You can select either Hopper to connect to with that Joey. It is selectable from the Joey itself. If you just want it to connect to one Hopper, you set it and forget it...
