This is a shot in the dark but lets see how it goes. I have some spare Dish and Directv UHF remotes. I'd like to use them to control a PC. Anyone heard of a USB receiver for UHF remotes? I know there are IR receivers for this but I'm trying to take advantage of the RF range. Thanks.

I'm familiar with IR to UHF converters but not the other way around. Can you provide a little more detail?

To be clear I would consider UHF to any format, it's just that USB is preferable. My initial guess is that both companies use a proprietary protocol and there aren't many if any third party products.

if not you can use a uhf to ir converter

I think jlo is talking about this thing. Even though it's called an IR-to-UHF upgrade kit, it's actually a UHF-to-IR upgrade kit. In other words, it includes a UHF remote and UHF receiver with an IR blaster for controlling an IR-only Dish Network receiver.
