New High-Definition Channel Puts Fashionistas Nationwide in the Front-Row of Every Major New York Fashion Show

JERICHO, N.Y., Feb. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- What was once the hottest ticket reserved only for the fashion elite is now accessible to fashion aspirants and novices alike. Today, Ultra-HD announces its official media sponsorship of Olympus Fashion Week, which grants the channel exclusive rights to air comprehensive high-definition (HD) coverage of the event. Ultra-HD is available exclusively to subscribers of VOOM, the first television service to offer a full array of HD programming to customers throughout the continental United States. VOOM offers far more HD programming than any other satellite or cable service and features an exclusive package of 21 commercial-free channels.
Beginning Saturday, February 21, Ultra-HD will introduce "Full Frontal Fashion HD," which covers every major fashion show from New York's catwalks in crystal-clear high-definition. The channel is the first to broadcast Olympus Fashion Week in HD format, providing viewers with a true-to-life picture of every seam, sequin and stitch.

"Ultra-HD is thrilled to be a part of the world's premier fashion event," said Gregory Moyer, President, Regional Programming for Rainbow Media Holdings, creators of Ultra-HD. "Beginning tomorrow and for many Olympus Fashion Weeks to come we hope to establish Ultra-HD as the leading national source for fashion on TV."

Full Frontal Fashion HD is an adaptation of the wildly successful program launched by Ultra-HD's sister channel, MetroTV, which will begin its coverage of Olympus Fashion Week on Sunday, February 8. Once only available to New Yorkers, Full Frontal Fashion HD on Ultra-HD provides viewers nationwide with a front-row seat in Bryant Park's tents and beyond.

Host Christina Ha and senior correspondents Judy Licht and Robert Verdi will supply insight to the fashion collections of Michael Kors, Narciso Rodriguez, Betsey Johnson, Ralph Lauren and more. Additional commentary will be provided by leading fashion experts Andri Leon Talley, Editor at Large of Vogue; Hal Rubenstein, Fashion Director of In Style; and Suze Yalof Schwartz, Fashion Editor at Large of Glamour, as well as members of the audience. For the social scene, famed celebrity photographer Patrick McMullan will take viewers behind the velvet rope to the hippest Fashion Week parties.

Among those designers who had the opportunity to see fashion coverage in HD was Fashion Week darling Luca Orlandi, Designer, LUCA LUCA, who said, "Through high-definition television, Ultra-HD will bring New York Fashion Week into my living room as real as it gets."

"The goal of Ultra-HD is to provide everyone entree to what was once afforded only to a select group of journalists, retailers, celebrities and socialites," said Elizabeth Dewey, Executive Producer of Ultra-HD. "Our production base in Bryant Park and special HD cameras provide us with more access and better angles than any other national TV resource."
