I want to add locals but keep my old grandfathered in Dish Pix plan. I know I will need to swap my Dish 300 for a Dish 500 (my locals are on 110). Does anyone have any suggestions on what to buy from eBay to accomplish this in an economical fashion? I can do my own installation. My current receiver is an ancient model 3000.

All you would need is a Dish500 with either
-Legacy singles or Duals and a SW21 or
-(the easier) Legacy Twin or Quad
DO NOT get a DishPro LNB. This has a big "DP" on it. It wont work with that receiver.

That was it. Funny thing is when I recently looked at the packages offered now, I only found two channels that I would like to add--other than locals. It isn't worth doubling my monthly fee for those two channels.
