Right now I have 2 receivers - a vip211 and old 2800. Each has a single coax feeding it from the switch, so there are a total of 2 coaxes entering the house from the switch.

I would like to upgrade the 2800 into a vip612. I believe the vip612 needs two coax feeds itself, in order to use both sat tuners. So I would then have a vip211 and a vip612 setup.

My exact switch/dish configuration as reported by the vip211 is shown below in 2 jpegs (attached).

So my questions are:

1) Do I actually need to run 2 coaxes from the switch to the vip612 before I can use both sat tuners? Or is there some "trick"?

2) If I do need both coaxes, can I just run another one from my existing switch, or do I need some newer switch installed first? Not familiar with switch hardware, exactly where do I attach the new wire?

3) What kind of coax to use? The run would be about 85 feet.

Thanks.
