I am looking to reactivate my subscription to Dish for ethnic programs only. I have a Dish 500 dish and a good dish receiver. When I point to 148 E (where the programs are located) I do not get any signal. Do I need a single LNB Dish (a 300)? Is it possible to lock on that bird using the dish I have? Any and all suggestions welcomed.

D300 - not.
Yes.
Use alum foil to cover one LNBF feedhorn with 110 sign; then tune using one marked as 119.

I will try that - thank you - I shall post any (hopefully positive) results. Why should I cover the 110 LNBF? There is no connection but on one of the LNBFs.

Thanks

the tinfoil on 110 makes sure you aren't trying to aim incorrectly. Also do a check switch with the cable unattached to clear everything. Once you get 148 locked in do not do a check switch :)

Good Deal?
