Hi,

I'm having fun with my FTA setup, though given the layout of my place (the forest) I'm only able to get satelliltes between about 75 and 105 degrees. I'm not able to get Galaxy 13/Horizon 1 nor some of the lower lying satellites around 35-50 degrees.

I'm going to have a pro come in and reinstall the dish as I did it just sufficient to "get by" but it got me thinking--I have an old Dishnetwork dish in the garage doing nothing, and an extra FTA LNB. I also have a 4-1 Diseq switch. Could I rig the Dish Network up on the roof pointing at one of the birds I can't get with my motorized setup (i.e the Dish Network dish would shoot over the trees).

Can you use an old Dish Network dish for some FTA, or is it better to use just as a bird bath?

Ugh. Sounds like more effort that cutting down my neighbors tree.

(I'm already thinking of dumping some termites over there).

I use my old dishnetwork setup, just the way it's pointing to echo6,8, to receive GolTV. It goes trough a 4 way switch and it works great. Haven't tried any other LNBs on the 18" dish, first: because it's on my high roof and I am not willing to sacrifice a leg or a neck for that, and second my FTA setup has been adequate to what I need.
