Hi,

(Sorry, if you've seen this before. I realized I posted it in the wrong forum the DVR forum). I currenlty have 2 dish 500 up on the roof connected to 4 E* receivers. My question is, if I have the dishes pointed at D* satellites (though I think D* also uses 110 and 119?), can I connect a D* receiver to it or are the the dishes specific for each system? I'm considering switching to D* and I don't want to have to bring everything down from the roof and put new dishes up there.

thanks!

AFAIK, it's not possible. The 101 is strictly for DTV. E* uses 29 transponders of the 110, and some of the 119. (I think)

Yes you can use an E* legacy dish 500 or 18" dish to receive D*. You cannot use the newer Dish 500 with integrated multi-switch. On the legacy Dish 500 you can replace the 110 standard LNB with a sat C LNB, then add a standard 18" dish to recieve 101 or if you inherited a legacy 18" or Dish 500 only, you can re-point it to 101 and add an additional legacy dish later.
